monkeyheadpress: DOUG LAWLER Big Dog, 2004 drypoint 12” h x 4” w  “I incise the image into a copper plate with various hard-pointed instruments of sharp metal or diamond point. Ink is worked into the finished image of the plate. The residual “tone” is manipulated to give further detail and expression. These slight variations in inking make each print unique. The plate is then run through an etching press and the print is produced on archival paper. After all prints in the series have been created, the copper plate is cancelled (destroyed).”
